Personal Statement:
A Statement of Interest is a detailed statement of goals and objectives in pursuing an advanced degree and a discussion of specific interests within a research group. This must be included in your online application and not as a separate document.
Recommendation Letter:
Upon completion of your online application your referees will be sent an email notifying them that you have selected them as a referee with instructions on how to upload their reference letter. This email is typically an overnight process, so can take over 24 hours to be sent after your application is submitted. Please ensure that your referees are academics (professors, lecturers). It is advisable that you contact your referees prior to applying so they have some advance notice and can start preparing a letter before you apply. Referees will need to complete the reference form in addition to their reference letter.
Research Proposal:
This is a one page summary (plus references) of a project you would like to conduct and how you would plan on carrying out this research. This is a separate document that you will upload after applying. |

Personal Statement:
Statement of Interest - maximum of 2 pages, uploaded to online Student Center after online application is submitted. Your statement of interest could include: why you wish to study architecture at the University of Calgary, what you would hope to gain from an architectural education, and/or how your experiences and/or interests have motivated you to pursue architectural education. You could refer to favourite architects, buildings, books, places, and/or mentors. Your statement is an opportunity to provide information not found elsewhere in your application, and is a compliment to your portfolio; the statement should be written in your voice. Aim to highlight something that might make you stand out in comparison to other applicants, something that makes you different or interesting.
Recommendation Letter:
Three appropriate letters of reference (at least two should be academic) dated within 12 months of the date of application. Referees will be notified by email (once the applicant's online form has been submitted) and provided a link to complete an online reference. Only if the online form cannot be completed, referees may use this form. |

A second official sealed set must be provided to a certified translator. The translator must provide a word-for-word translation of the transcript and notarize the translation. These documents must be put in a sealed envelope by the translator. The translator should then forward that sealed envelope of the original transcript and the notarized translation to the address provided below.
Curriculum Vitae:
A detailed resume indicating volunteer or paid experience relevant to social work. Please include educational history, professional experience (including teaching), professional and educational awards/distinctions, publications, and presentations.
Personal Statement:
A study plan (statement of intent) outlining the applicant’s educational goals and career expectations. The study plan must indicate the applicant’s intended area of specialization: Clinical Social Work Practice, Leadership in the Human Services, or International and Community Development.
Recommendation Letter:
Two reference letters, preferably one academic, and one professional. If an applicant is unable to provide an academic reference, a second professional reference can be submitted instead. |
