　　学校简介

　　雪城大学是一家私立研究型大学，位于美国纽约州雪城。它成立于1870年，最早可以追溯到由卫理公会于1832年成立的神学院，最终成为杰纳西学院。 1920年，雪城大学宣布自己为无宗派学校，但仍保持着与美国卫理公会的联系。雪城大学在1966年加入美国大学联盟。

　　学校校园位于大学山，在东部和东南部的市中心附近较大的山丘上。其特点是各时代建筑的最佳组合，从19世纪罗马式建筑到现代的建筑。雪城大学由13个学院组成，信息研究和图书馆学、建筑、通信、工商管理、公共管理等项目获得联邦高度认可。校报《The Daily Orange》创立于1903年，并于1971年独立。它属下有两间电台：WAER-FM及WERW-AM，还有一个校园电视网络HillTV。

　　雪城市居纽约州中部，素有CENTRAL NEW YORK之称，是纽约州第四大城，是一中型的城市。治安良好，环境优美，湖光山色，是十分美丽的都市。属于大陆型气候，四季分明，“逢春飘花，临夏荫浓，城秋枫红，瑞雪隆冬”是最佳写照，夏季气温约介于华氏 65 至85 度，冬季则介于华氏 15 至 40 度之间，因受湖效应的影响，下雪量较多。而雪城大学位于五大湖中安大略湖南方数十里的Syracuse市郊上，距纽约市及多伦多均只有5个多小时的行车时间。当天也可赶到波斯顿(Boston)、巴尔地摩(Baltimore)、哈特夫迪 (Hartford)、蒙特利尔(Montreal)、费城(Philadelph ia) 及华盛顿(Washington)。雪大校园离机场、公共汽车“灰狗”站、火车站都只有15分钟的行车时间。

　　住宿

　　每年新生（包括转学生）会占据锡拉丘兹大学宿舍3500张床。所有新生将住在北边的校园宿舍，转学生则住在南边的。学校要求新生在前两年必须住在学校中。新生的宿舍分配方式是随机的，学校会使用一种网上宿舍分配系统来随机将学生分配到众多宿舍里的一张床上，同时也就随机分配出来室友。学校不允许新生自己选择宿舍类型或者是选择室友。大部分学生会被分到双人间，少数有可能被分到三人或四人间。

　　餐饮

　　学校要求住宿舍的新生都必须选择一种meal plan。学校一共有五个食堂，那里永远有新鲜、美味的食物。除了每天都不同的基本饭菜外，还有烤肉、熟食、沙拉、素菜等专柜。

　　校园活动

　　锡拉丘兹大学有超过300个学生组织，包括了媒体、政府、文化、宗教、艺术等等主题。学校也举办一些传统活动比如Pulse Performing Arts Series、Orange After Dark、Homecoming、Winter Carnival、Senior Celebration等等。这些活动可以使学生学到知识的同时更加融入到集体当中。学校还有自己的家教组织，学生可以在其中找到适合自己的家教，也可以报名做家教并接受培训。

　　雪城大学位于纽约州雪城。雪城居纽约州中部，人口147,306，是纽约州第四大城，是一中型的城市。

　　文化生活

　　该校属于大东方联盟。雪城有40个博物馆供人参观，还有AAA级棒球俱乐部和曲棍球俱乐部，也有40个高尔夫球场以及每逢比赛雪城人就象过节一样蜂拥而致的凯利圆顶室内运动场。至于校园安全，雪城大学在整个校园设有紧急警报，宿舍里有卡片钥匙系统以及为那些在校园里学习到很晚的学生设有巴士服务。“公共安全警察在不间断的巡逻”一名学生如是说。

　　雪城环境优美，湖光山色，是十分美丽的都市。属于大陆型气候，四季分明，“逢春飘花，临夏荫浓，城秋枫红，瑞雪隆冬”是最佳写照。冬天是银装素裹的白雪世界，而其它季节又是绿色的海洋。

　　雪城夏季气温约介于18摄氏度至30摄氏度，冬季则介于-10摄氏度至5摄氏度之间，因受湖效应的影响，下雪量较多。

　　雪城在过去两个世纪中是重要的交通枢纽，先是成为伊利运河和其支流的枢纽，后来又成为铁路枢纽。今天，雪城坐落于81号和90号州际公路的交汇处，并拥有本地区最大的机场。

A：一般大家的首选都是当地的国际旅行健康中心。因为那里是一条龙服务，你打疫苗之前必须要先做体检，做完之后会给你上面提到过的国际旅行健康证书（俗称的小红本），里面记录了你的体检信息。打完疫苗之后还会给你一本国际疫苗接种证明（俗称的小黄本），里面记录了你打过的疫苗及信息。

Q：雪城大学奖学金是怎样的？
A：　　奖学金　　据统计，截至2013年，雪城大学的奖学金总量已经达到了三亿四千万美元，也就是将近二十亿人民币。这是在经过了对招收的学生学费一系列的减免之后的出来的结果，这一项政策使得更多更优秀但是家庭情况不好的学生有了更多的机会。根据学校统计，雪城大学有80%的学生均可获得奖学金，平均每位学生每年可获得大约2万美元。　　雪城大学的这一举动，不过是美国名校中奖学金大战的一着棋而已。其他大学，早已有类似的政策，而且许多已经表示要针对雪城大学的新政策“跟牌”。那些不跟牌的，就可能从一流大学里被淘汰。美国国会也正在讨论要求各大学把一定比例的捐助基金拿出来作为奖学金的法案，逼着大学把钱放在学生的口袋里。
