Transcript: Submit a copy of an official transcript for each college or university attended. Failure to list all colleges on the application and provide those transcripts will be considered an intentional omission and may lead to the cancelation of your application for admission or withdrawal of your offer of admission. Transcripts from junior or community colleges should be submitted if you completed our pre-enrollment requirements or any accounting courses at these institutions. Curriculum Vitae: Upload a .pdf of your resume through the application status check website. You will have access to the application status check approximately 24-48 hours after submitting your online application.Resume Format Please follow the MPA Application Resume Guidelines (found in this packet) and use the MPA Application Resume Template for formatting and constructing your resume. Due to substantial MPA applicant volume, the MPA admissions and career services staff are unable to advise individual prospective students regarding resume content or format. However, we have provided detailed guidelines, a list of action words and a Word template to assist you. If admitted, you will use this format again during the MPA recruiting process and receive individualized attention from our MPA career consultants. They will work with you to fine-tune your resume content to maximize its effectiveness. Personal Statement: Explain how obtaining a Master in Professional Accounting degree at the McCombs School of Business will assist you in further defining your primary personal and/or professional life goals. Why is now the best time for you to pursue this degree? Your explanation should include, but not necessarily be limited to, a description of both your intermediate and longer-term career goals, as well as a current vision of your desired employment upon graduation Recommendation Letter: Two Letters of Recommendation You will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of your references in the "Employment, References, and Honors" section of the application. The Texas MPA accepts recommendation letters from academic and/or professional references. The application provides space for up to three references, but you can opt to leave one blank. In addition, you will be asked to decide whether or not you waive the right to view your letters after they are submitted. Please note that your references will be informed of your decision. After your application for admission is submitted and received at The University of Texas at Austin, the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) will send a Request for Reference email message to your references. The message will contain a link to a website where your references will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and upload a recommendation letter. After you have submitted your online application for admission, you can log into the application status check to monitor the status of your pending recommendation requests, resend the Request for Reference email or add a new reference. Supplemental Materials: You can upload any supplemental documentation in the form of a .pdf file. Examples of supplemental documentation include 1) a full list of honors and awards or current and future coursework, if the entire list doesn't fit in the online application, or 2) a written explanation to the MPA admissions committee if you feel that your grade point average or test scores are not valid indicators of your ability.

You may upload your resume onto the Cockrell graduate application Personal Statement: Submit online with your application. If you do not wish to be considered for financial aid or have your own funding or fellowship, please indicate so in your Statement of Purpose Recommendation Letter: When you complete the "References" portion of the online application for admission, you will list the names and email addresses of those you have asked to recommend you. Be sure that the email addresses are current and accurate. You will be asked to inform us if you are going to waive the right to view your letters after they are submitted. Please indicate this waiver by answering the associated question on the application for admission. After you submit the application online, GIAC will send an e-mail message to the addresses you provided and ask your recommenders to visit a web site where they can complete a questionnaire and upload their letter of recommendation. Your recommenders will be informed if you have not waived your right to view their letters of recommendation. To monitor and maintain your requests for reference, please go to the status check website. There you can monitor the status of your pending recommendations, resend a Request for Reference email to your recommenders, add a new recommender, and revise your FERPA (right to view) status from retained to waived. If you have additional questions about online recommendation letters, email gradref@austin.utexas.edu. Online submission of recommendations is strongly preferred, but we will accept paper recommendations if absolutely necessary. Other Document: Class ranking if available The department would also like to know your class rank (eg. 3rd out of 40 Civil Engineering seniors), if available. If your university does not rank its students, please let us know that or ask one of your recommenders to estimate your ranking.

An email to them is automatically generated by the application system. These letters must be submitted in either ASCII text (.txt) or PDF (.pdf) format. As an alternative, reference letter writers may also email their document to gradcoordinator@math.utexas.edu and the document will be uploaded to the applicant's file.

Transcript: Photocopies of all transcripts and GRE (and TOEFL) scores can be sent as unofficial copies in case official scores are delayed. If you have sent the official ones there is no need for unofficial copies. Please note that official copies of these items, sent to GIAC, are sometimes delayed in processing, so that the dossiers of students who do not provide the Program with photocopies may be considered incomplete and may not be reviewed. Personal Statement: A statement of purpose, discussing the applicant's education, specific areas of interest, and professional goals. (Submitted Online) Recommendation Letter: Three letters of recommendation Writing Sample: A writing sample in the form of a critical essay of 10-15 pages demonstrating the ability to perform literary analysis. The essay should reveal the applicant's skill at explicating a text in a manner that shows a sophisticated appreciation of its formal attributes, figurative language, and historical context. The essay should also demonstrate methodological rigor and critical self-awareness. Applicants are free to submit a writing sample written in the language they intend to study, but should include a copy in English so that the entire Admissions Committee may read it

Uploaded via the Application Status Check page. Personal Statement: The online Application Status Check page allows you to enter your Statement of Purpose or to upload it in a variety of formats. Please note that this is a Statement of Purpose and not a Personal Statement, and compose it accordingly. Paper Statements of Purpose are not accepted. Recommendation Letter: Three Letters of Recommendation. The online application allows your referees to submit their letters of recommendation online. When you list your referees on the application, you will need to enter the referees’ email addresses. They will be sent an email with directions on how to submit a recommendation letter for you.
