　　俄亥俄州立大学主校区(The Ohio State University-Main Campus）坐落于美国俄亥俄州首府哥伦布市，是一所历史悠久，享有盛名的美国研究型公立高等学府，同时也是本州排名第一的公立大学。俄亥俄州立大学始创于1870年，目前是美国规模最大的大学，今为十大联盟成员，是美国一所顶尖的公立大学，被誉为“公立常春藤”大学之一。在美国所有研究型大学里，综合排名15。

　　俄亥俄州立大学在哥伦布的主校园是美国最大的校园,威克斯纳艺术中心也位于哥伦布校园中。

　　俄亥俄州立大学的语言学系和商业、教育、政治学、舞蹈和工程学院均很著名。医学院的詹姆斯癌症医院是美国最先进的癌症研究所之一。

　　俄亥俄州立大学要求大一的新生住在学校宿舍中。住在宿舍的好处有：离上课地点很近、宿舍每层都有管理员来帮助学生适应新环境、能快速交到新朋友、适应学校生活。学校中有将近40栋宿舍楼，有普通宿舍类型也有套房类型。

　　餐饮

　　俄亥俄州立大学在校园中有超过20个吃饭的地方，有着不同的风格、地点、开放时间以及食物。其中有传统美式餐厅、快餐、咖啡厅、自助餐等。学生需要根据自己的饮食习惯、课程安排、平时活动、学习、睡觉、锻炼的时间安排来选择最适合自己的meal plan。

　　俄亥俄州立大学有超过1000个学生组织，为学生提供了众多融入校园的机会。学生组织在提供有效学习环境、使学生适应多文化社会以及在全球化的集体中生活都起了重要的作用。有数千名学生参与到了学生组织中，种类从厨艺小组到跳舞小组，种类繁多。学校有自己的一套打工系统，学生可以成功的在选择12-18个学分的同时打一份临时工为自己减轻学费的负担。

　　俄亥俄州立大学坐落于美国俄亥俄州首府哥伦布市。哥伦布市位于俄州的中心地带，也是该州最大的城市。

　　文化生活

　　该校属于十大联盟。哥伦布有许多政府机关和大型企业，还有丰富的体育活动和艺术气氛，是美国东北部发展最快的城市之一。虽然是俄亥俄州的首府，但是感觉上和小镇的生活没有太大区别，比较平静、简单，治安也很好。

　　自然景观

　　俄州虽然比不上东西两岸繁华热闹，但是旅游资源颇为丰富：无大山大江却有丘壑泉瀑，且四季分明，春有桃花秋有菊，夏可漂流冬滑雪，不失为居家乐业之地。

　　气候

　　哥伦布属于温带大陆性湿润气候，1月平均气温-4℃―2℃，七月平均气温23℃。

　　交通

　　哥伦布的公共交通系统的缩写是COTA，学生可以凭学生证免费乘坐。对于留学生来说，比较常用的几条公交干线是2，7，18路。除了COTA以外，OSU还有自己的巴士专线CABS，任何人都可以免费乘坐。哥伦布也有很多大型的购物中心，生活购物都很方便。机场/接机信息: 北京有直飞哥伦布的航班，也可以选择在芝加哥等地转机。学校CSSA可以负责接机。机场距离学校大概十分钟的车程。

　　周边企业

　　哥伦布的实习机会有很多。数个全球性的公司的总部都位于哥伦布。例如全国相互保险公司的总部、零售商有限品牌公司的总部、钢铁公司沃辛顿工业公司的总部、两家快餐连锁店的总部在哥伦布：Wendy‘s和白色城堡。另外还有卡地纳健康的总部、亚伯克朗比及费区的总部、史特林商务公司的总部。其它大公司在哥伦布地区也有重要基地。本田技研工业在这里有两个汽车厂，其中一个是本田在美国开的第一座厂。摩根大通在哥伦布也有一个重要的基地。

　　安全

　　俄亥俄州立大学有一套短信警报系统来通知紧急事件。学校还有一个方法是用看不见的墨水来标记学生的值钱物品，这样就可以防止盗窃事件。
