　　住宿

　　学校有5个本科住宿区即东区、南区、西区、北区、鳕鱼区（Pollock，又译大菠萝）、3个研究生住宿区（尼塔尼区、东景区、白区）及其他的荣誉宿舍。Penn State的住宿费用较其它地区高，而且一般One bedroom（单人房）约用三百至五百美元一个月。Two bedroom 则在七百至一千美元之间。学校的住宿较便宜，但要排队申请(Waiting list)。

　　餐饮

　　本校餐饮服务很方便，校内每个住宿区及学生中心皆有食堂。学校伙食一学年约九百元。若自己掌厨则费用会更便宜。市中心有五家中国餐馆，附近并有二家「东方店」，想吃的中国调味、米、面、大白菜都有，价格尚称合理。另外还有WAL-MART等大型超市。吃在此地不成问题。

　　校园活动

　　宾大的橄榄球队尼塔尼雄狮在NCAA很出名，几乎每年都在全国前20之内，许多人来了学校数载，都不知校长是谁，但都知道前传奇足球教练Joe Paterno的名字与长相。宾州州立大学拥有许多不同的学生社团，美每一个专业有各自的专业社团，还有辩论社等活动社团以及各种宗教社团等。另外宾夕法尼亚州立大学还有引以为豪的世界上最大的学生慈善组织THON。每年THON都会组织长达两天的慈善舞蹈马拉松，通过赞助商以及参与者48小时不停地跳舞为医学院癌症中心捐款。截止2013年THON已经为癌症中心累计捐赠了超过一亿美元。另外，每年的赛季中，前往海狸大球场、布莱斯乔丹中心、杰佛理球场、冰球场、莱克莱辛球场等地为尼塔尼雄狮的各支球队加油助威也是学生生活的一部分。

　　宾夕法尼亚大学位于美国的费城。费城（Philadelphia），别称是“友爱之城”。位于美国东海岸的宾夕法尼州，是美国第5大城市，仅次于纽约、洛杉矶、芝加哥和休斯敦；是全美第4大都会区，仅次于纽约、洛杉矶和芝加哥。费城人口约170万人，面积约为9202平方公里。

　　文化生活

　　该校属于常春藤联盟。1790-1800年，在华盛顿建市前曾是美国的首都。费城是美国最具历史意义的城市，有非常重要的地位。1774-1775年两次大陆会议在此召开，并通过独立宣言；1787年在此举行制宪会议，诞生了第一部联邦宪法。费城大学云集，学术气息浓重。此外，费城也是NBA费城76人队（Philadelphia 76ers）的主场。

　　自然景观

　　费城港是世界最大的河口港之一。有运河沟通特拉华河和切萨皮克湾。市区东起德拉瓦河，向西延伸到斯库基尔河以西，面积334平方公里。Broad St。以西、Vine St。以北为艺术区，博物馆、美术馆多聚集在此。8th St。以东为历史区，以西为中心区。主要观光地多集中艺术区及历史区，旅馆与购物中心则在中心区。南北方向道路自德拉瓦河畔开始，以 1st、2nd……等数字命名街道。费城是个徒步就可以走完的城市，在历史区逛一天、艺术区两天，则是最理想的行程。

　　气候

　　费城位于副热带湿润气候的北外围，四季分明，风景宜人，属半湿润气候。冬季（十二月至三月）冷，一月平均温0。2℃，然而温度有时降到？10℃。平均降雪为49cm，但降雪时间非常不定。夏季闷热，7月平均气温25。3℃，高温有时达35℃，但早晚还是有几许凉意。常见雷雨。全年降水量约1070mm，也分布得比较匀。此地丘陵很多，开车时忽高忽低。森林茂密，水系发达，空气清新。

　　交通

　　你可以在这个城市的任何地方乘公共汽车。如果你提前买票会便宜点，如果办理月票或者年票会更便宜。如果你在中心城市，只要你想打车就能打到。出租车起价为2。70美元。火车单程票价为10美元，一个半小时就能经过费城全部的30个站。机场/接机信息: 宾大距离费城机场只有15分钟的车程。北京、上海都有直飞费城的飞机。可以到eastwick坐火车（airport line）再步行到学校。也可以坐出租到学校。

　　美国宾夕法尼亚大学对校园安全的重视始于本世纪初的一次重大恐怖袭击。2001年“9・11”事件过去没多久，宾大开始制订一项危机管理计划来确保学生安全。同时，学校的公共安全部门开始向校内男女生提供免费的RAD(Rape Aggression Defense即强奸攻击防御)课程。另外，此地治安良好，因为大学城的居民较单纯，警察的主要工作是开罚单（白天校园不能停车）以及Football game时维持交通。该校所在位置属于大型城市，该区域的毒品/枪支犯罪率(每千人)为0。41。
