　　不是“学院”的学院

　　波士顿学院，大眼一看貌似是个文理学院，但实际上它是个正宗的私立研究型大学。9000人的本科生规模，让BC大到足够提供多样化的校园文化，又刚好小的可以得到足够的个人关注。BC收到的14亿美金是全美最多的校园捐赠之一。Party School的名号和全美培养Fulbright Fellowship获得者总人数前10的排名不禁让人遐想BC的学生到底学起来有多疯，玩儿起来有多狂。

　　在每个新时代教育出有技能、知识渊博和负责任的领导者。

　　为实现上述目标，BC为每位学生设置了Core Requirements，涵盖包括文学、科学、历史、哲学、社会科学和神学领域等的15门课程。用BC学生自己的话说：“这里面当然会有你讨厌的课，但你最终会喜欢上它们。”BC会为帮助教授进行学术研究项目的本科生提供资金支持。而对生物和物理感兴趣的孩纸们，可以在刚刚耗费8500万美元扩建的希金斯生物物理中心大显身手。

　　该校属于新常春藤联盟。波士顿是美国独立革命思想的发源地，就相当于中国的延安。波士顿是美国著名的文化城。波土顿交响乐团享有国际声誉。其他主要文化设施有艺术博物馆、美术馆、自然科学史博物馆和波士顿公共图书馆等。该市在体育方面也有所建树：波士顿红袜，波士顿棕熊队，波士顿，凯尔特人队都是波士顿的著名球队。波士顿的治安问题在当地警局的治理之下一度有所缓解。

　　波士顿水域面积占到了城市总面积的二分之一。查尔斯河，尼本赛特河，神秘河，切尔西溪，都流经波士顿或在波士顿与其他城市的边界上。因此波士顿被人们称为“美国的雅典”，风景怡人。

　　气候

　　波士顿和整个新英格兰地区一样，夏季炎热潮湿，而冬季寒冷。波士顿最热的月份在7月，平均气温为27.7摄氏度，最冷的月份为1月，平均气温为零下5摄氏度。

　　交通

　　东波士顿有洛根国际机场，在城市48千米半径范围内还有许多小型机场。波士顿市中心的街道没有规则可循，忽而消失，忽而又随意的分成数条小巷。自行车在学生中的普及程度远低于国内，主要用于短距离代步（5-10分钟车程），不适合于长途跋涉。原因一是Boston冬天雨雪频繁，道路湿滑；二是不设自行车道，须占用机动车道。但同时波士顿的地下运输系统与郊区通勤铁路却十分发达。由于城市布局紧凑，学生数量众多，在波士顿步行者的数量达到13%，远比美国同规模城市为多。地铁票价统一为2.00元，市内汽车（含电车）为1.50元。机场/接机信息：离学校最近的机场是波士顿机场，大概半个小时的车程。到波士顿没有直飞的飞机，可以选择在纽约、旧金山、多伦多等地方转机。学生可以联系波士顿学院的CSSA来接机。
